Intel has announced that it will invest $ 20 billion in new processor factories

Intel, which has been in decline for several years due to manufacturing problems, has announced a relaunch plan that will consist of opening new factories after investments of $ 20 billion. Intel announces the plan amid the microprocessor crisis that has severely affected the automotive industry, but also electronics.

Intel will build two processor plants in Arizona and create 3,000 jobs there. The company will also open production capacities in Europe.

The new head of Intel, Pat Gelsinger, who has been running the company since February, also announced the creation of a new division called Intel Foundry Services that will have a high degree of autonomy. Intel Foundry Services will develop x86, Arm and RISC-V chips for external customers using Intel manufacturing technologies.

Pat Gelsinger simultaneously wants to increase its own production capacity, but to turn even more to other companies that manufacture various necessary components. The head of Intel says that in this way the activities will be better optimized and the company will become bigger and more flexible.

Intel had a turnover of $ 78 billion last year.
