Peugeot will launch a reinterpretation of the 308 model. The compact hatchback will enter the market later this year. Peugeot 308 adopts a new design and is the first model launched by the French with the new company logo.

Exterior design

  1. Design The new 308 has a completely redesigned design. The new car comes with daytime running lights with the signature LED lights in the shape of a lion’s fangs. Therefore, the design is in line with other Peugeot models launched in recent years. The grille makes the 3008 and 5008 SUVs impressive and memorable.

The taillights have a black background, and the position lights are represented by three LED light bars that represent the paws of the lion. The two taillights are connected by a smooth black ornament that stretches across the entire width of the tailgate.

Customers have the opportunity to choose from sixteen body colors. Olive green and vertigo blue are the launch colors, and the palette is made of red E, pearl white, pearl black and Artense (silver). The wheel size starts at 16 inches, and at higher equipment levels, the maximum can reach 18 inches. The new Peugeot 308 is 11 cm longer than the previous one.

To this difference, 5.5 cm is added to the wheelbase. This increase is felt in the space available to the rear passengers. However, the trunk volume was reduced from 420 liters to 412 liters. And the height of the car is different. Lower the ceiling line by 2 cm to reduce the aerodynamic coefficient to 0.28.

Interior Peugeot 308

Inside, the French Peugeot have prepared a design that does not conform to the classic Peugeot tradition, with which we have become accustomed in recent years. The board has been redesigned to conform to the design themes of other models. The 10-inch touch screen of the multimedia system is built-in. It contains most of the commands, but some physical buttons remain at the bottom.

  1. Two hybrid versions

Two hybrid versions Based on the EMP2 platform, the Peugeot 308 will be powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine, which is available in two power versions: 110 and 130 hp respectively. You can also choose a 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine with 130 horsepower. As a standard configuration, the car offers a six-speed manual transmission, you can also choose to use an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Two plug-in hybrid versions are also provided. Both use an 81 kW electric motor powered by a 12.4 kWh battery. The difference is the heat engine. The basic power is 130 hp, and the most efficient power is 180 horsepower. Therefore, the combination of these two hybrid versions can produce 180 and 225 horsepower, respectively. In WLTP mode, the Peugeot 308 plug-in hybrid vehicle can achieve a pure electric range of 60 kilometers. The new Peugeot 308 will be launched in the second half of this year.
