BMW M Boss Says There Is Room In The Lineup For An M4 CS

When it comes to purchasing a BMW M4, enthusiasts have a lot of options because the sports coupe is available in a variety of versions.

The swift vehicle has a wide range of options, including manual and automatic transmissions, RWD and xDrive, basic and Competition variants.

Let’s not forget the M4 CSL, which will only be produced in 1,000 pieces for the entire world.

Additionally, to honor the famous E9, the 3.0 CSL is an ultra-exclusive special edition.

M CEO Frank van Meel made a strong suggestion that there would be even another derivative in the future in an interview with BMWBLOG despite the company’s already complex portfolio: “We had an M3 CS and M4 CS in the past, and we always stated we have this regular competition CS and CSL letter.

Additionally, there is still room because the M4 lineup currently does not include a CS.

Since many prototypes have already been seen undergoing testing, it appears highly likely that an M3 CS will emerge first.

According to rumors, the limited-edition super sedan will be unveiled early next year and will temporarily serve as the M3 family’s crown gem by sitting above the Competition variant.

According to rumors, the CS is an automatic-only vehicle with xDrive and boasts a little bit more power and lighter weight than the M3 Competition.

Naturally, the same modifications would be carried over to a potential M4 CS.

The iDrive 8 is present in the 2023 M3 Sedan and Touring, although it is not yet available in the M4.

The latest hardware will most likely soon be available for the coupe, and logically, an M4 CS would have it.

The M3 CS and M4 CS will both have bodywork that seem more aggressive than the Competition models, though not to the same degree as the M4 CSL.

To avoid competing with the M4 CSL, expect the 3.0-liter inline-six engine’s twin turbos to produce around 540 horsepower (550 hp).

The similar two-door variant might follow by the end of 2023, with the M3 CS making its debut in the first few months of that year.

Since BMW is projected to produce more than 1,000 copies of each, these two should be less exclusive than the M4 CSL.
