In 2022, we have no shortage of great mobile phones.
Some of the best phones include the iPhone 13 Pro, Pixel 6 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, and they offer everything you could want from a device.
From high-end performance to beautiful cameras, they're top of the range.
Of course, there are a number of other great phones with eye-catching features, such as Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 4, which has a foldable screen.
But these can be quite expensive. But there are also increasingly affordable mobile phones, such as the new Pixel 6A, which packs excellent specs and high-speed 5G connectivity.
And the sheer amount of mobile competition means you get great options at any price point within your budget, whether your biggest concern is an AMOLED screen, 5G data, or a great camera.
To help you figure out the best of the best mobile phones, we’ve rounded up some options for the best phone to buy in 2022.
Apple iPhone 13 Pro – The best phone in every way
The iPhone 13 Pro is the best phone Apple makes, and it scored a tremendously high score. The new iPhone 13 adds a third rear camera with 3x optical zoom (up from 2x on the iPhone 12), a stainless steel body, and a ProMotion display with refresh rates up to 120Hz for smoother scrolling.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra – Best Android phone
Samsung’s latest flagship superphone, the Galaxy S22 Ultra boasts an impressive array of specs, including a quad rear camera, a large and vibrant screen and the S Pen stylus you might remember from the Galaxy Note series. It comes with a hefty price tag, but those looking for one of the world’s best Android mobile phones should have it on their short list.
Google Pixel 6 Pro – If you want to save money
The Google Pixel 6 Pro’s unique design, excellent software additions, superb camera quality and overall solid performance have already earned the phone an excellent rating in our full review. With performance as good as its design, it’s the best phone Google has ever made. The main camera is on par with the best iPhones. And it also comes at a lower price for the base 128GB model, which beats premium phone rivals.
Apple iPhone 13 – Best everyday phone
The standard iPhone 13 is a reliable choice for most people, with a 6.1-inch screen and two excellent rear cameras. For this model, Apple has promised longer battery life, improved cameras and better durability than the Apple iPhone 12. What do you lose by not upgrading to the Pro? A third rear camera with 3x optical zoom and a ProMotion display with refresh rates up to 120Hz for smoother scrolling. It’s not a cheap phone, but it’s certainly a more affordable flagship than its Pro siblings.
OnePlus 10 Pro – A high-performance flagship with a lower price tag
The OnePlus 10 Pro scored well in our review thanks to its sleek design, its powerful performance and its price, which is lower than its main rivals. It needs a few improvements – especially in terms of the camera, which is good but not great – but this flagship offers a great overall experience. If you’re looking for a top 5G phone that’s a little different from your friends’ iPhones and Galaxy phones then it’s a solid option to consider.
Apple iPhone SE (2022) – The most affordable iPhone
Apple’s iPhone SE 2022 may not have the incredible multiple cameras of the top-of-the-line iPhone 13 Pro, but the iPhone SE has a lot to offer if you’re looking for a great experience without spending a lot of money. It’s 5G compatible, for one thing, runs the latest iOS 15 software, and includes the same A15 Bionic processor found in Apple’s top phones. As a result, performance is lightning fast.
