The importance of wind power. Advantages disadvantages

Renewable alternative energies are gaining ground in developed countries.

Well, this is a good thing. But we must also take into account the fact that there are some disadvantages to using alternative energy.

Modern history shows that the wind power generation industry began in 1979. Then four Danish companies decided to produce windmills. But at that time the plants produced had a very low capacity to produce electricity.

Making an arc over time, today the earth is suffering more and more due to the massive increase in pollution caused by the burning of fossil fuels. This issue has come into the spotlight of many states of the earth and is a major concern.

For this reason, the Kyoto Protocol in Japan was established in 1997 on an action plan to reduce emissions. This protocol provided for the reduction of greenhouse gases for industrialized states by 5.2% in the period 2008-2012.
Wind energy supports fossil fuels and nuclear energy.
But what is wind energy?

Defining the concept of wind power
In summary, wind energy is a source of renewable energy produced from wind power.

Let’s see what the advantages and disadvantages of wind energy are.
In principle, we want to reduce the dependence on these fossil fuels and why not, even in the future to eliminate them.
Also, the resources on earth are exhaustible and we have to get used to it by looking for other alternative sources of energy.
Today we will refer
strictly to wind energy, we will see why it is so important, and
what are the main advantages it offers.

The advantages of using wind energy

One of its great advantages is the zero emission of toxic greenhouse gases
Low costs are another aspect to consider
They draw a parallel with the waste produced by nuclear power plants. The production of renewable energy such as wind energy does not bring any toxic waste to the environment.
Low decommissioning costs. Costs are low being a normal issue compared to nuclear power plants. That's where they can end up doubling.

Disadvantages

Of course, wind energy also has some disadvantages. It will never be able to compete with a hydropower plant or a nuclear power plant. Variation in wind speed is one of the big problems.

We can also mention that these wind farms cannot be located anywhere in any region, etc. On land there are few places that can provide a constant enough wind to produce electricity

In the past, when the first wind farms appeared, a major disadvantage of wind energy production
it was represented by the giant price of electricity production and the low reliability of wind turbines. The good part is that in recent years, the production price
per unit of electricity decreased extremely much, reaching, through
improving the technical parameters of the turbines.

Another disadvantage is "noise pollution". Wind turbines convert the kinetic motion of the blades into menic energy generating noise. For this reason the turbines seem to be noisy. But we hope that with the technological evolution there will be an upgrade of them and they will be more and more silent. Wind turbines have a modern, attractive appearance, although in the past many claimed that their design looked strange.

Another thing worth noting is that these wind farms require a fairly large plot of land. There is much speculation that windmills destroy the ecosystem, killing birds culminating in the destruction of certain species of birds. True, dead birds were found hit by the propellers of windmills.

The use of renewable energy sources marks the environment that has been degraded over 200 years with the period of industrialization in the world. No wonder the ozone layer has shrunk significantly, and solar radiation is getting stronger and reaching an alarming threshold at any time of the year. These are the obvious results of pollution.
At the moment, wind energy has a large share among the production of alternative energy. This is the main source of
alternative energy from around the world, compared to the energy obtained from fossil fuels proving to be an efficient solution to the global energy problem. Solar energy is only secondary when we talk about alternative renewable energy sources
An important thing to know is that the Netherlands, as of January 1, 2017, is the first country in the world to use wind energy produced by wind farms. All its lands are supplied with wind energy.
Even though European governments have provided subsidies to eliminate pollution from energy production, at European level green energy by implementing alternative energy projects such as wind, solar has not yielded the long-awaited results, being below the satisfactory average, at least so shows a report published at the International Economic Forum.
And of course, these energy projects have not yielded the long-awaited results, wasting over 100 billion dollars over time. But this is another topic of wide debate.

In the end, I think we should be more and more concerned with this subject. After all, it’s about our health, even if we can’t believe it, that’s the reality. Don’t forget how to keep the environment so you will have it!
